Latimojong mountains range stretch across from South Sulawesi until Central Sulawesi, encircle several peak of mountain with heighten more than 2.500mdpl, the famous one between Rante Mario peak (3478 M asl), Nenemori peak (3097 M asl), Rante Kombala peak (3083 M asl), and the most higher combine mountain range is Rante Mario peak to be highten peak in Sulawesi island.

Climbing should to make trip at dry season on April until November, within fine weather and seldom storm. On the other hand, at rainy season on December until March wind is damp.

MOUNT RANTEMARIO TREKKING AND TORAJA LAND TOUR

Day 01 : MAKASSAR ARRIVAL
Evening arrival at Hasanuddin International Arrival, Makassar. Picked up by our guide, stay at Hotel near irport or simillar. Short briefing about the program by our guide. (B,L,D)

Day 02 : MAKASSAR – ENREKANG
EMorning after breakfast, transfer by private car to Enrekang which is 234 km with a travel time of about 5 hours, drive-trip takes across the Bugis Village with their houses on poles along the magnificent mountainous ranges. Lunch will be served at local restaurant in ParePare, a small port situated 153 kms north of Makassar. Arriving in Enrekang we will stay at Villa Bambapuang (800 M asl) which is about 18 km from Enrekang city, located next to the road axis Enrekang - Toraja. Free program, enjoy the facilities of the villa and the natural hills in front of the villa or Buttu Kabobong Erotic Mountain. (B,L,D)   

Day 03 : BARAKKA – RANTELEMO – KARANGAN – SARUNG PAKPAK CAVE
Early morning after breakfast, around 6:30 am we go to Barakka city, still in Enrekang district. Approximately 1.5 hours ater we arrive at Baraka market, to replace vehicles with a 4WD Jeep to Rantelemo village. Then drive to Buntudea village which is 20 km from Baraka. Road conditions and the ground sometimes is still muddy when it rains, can only be reached by Jeep, horse or bike across that winding twisty mountain slopes. The landscapes and people plantation like bark, cloves, coffee and red chillies can be seen growing along the road impassable. It takes about 4 hours to arrive in Rantelemo village through several small hamlets. Lunch break here before continuing the journey by trekking to the Post 2. Of Rantelemo, we will pass last village named Karangan then enter the coffee plantations and down the river Salu Karangan, and continues uphill to the Post 1 at a height of 1800 M asl. Of Buntu Kaciling to the Post 2, terrain up and down by the side of  valley with a river that flows rapidly. We will be camping at Pos 2 or Sarung Pakpak Cave that has the same height with Pos 1 or Buntu Kaciling. Total travel time from Rantelemo is about 3.5 hours. (BB,L,D)

Day 04 :  SARUNG PAKPAK CAVE – SOLOH TAMAN – SUMMIT CAMP
Today’s target is Summit Camp or Post 7, its local name is Kolong Buntu. After breakfast, at about 7:30 am the climbing starts with a steep hill toward Pos 3 or Lantang Nase (1940 M asl) for 1 hour. From Post 3 to Post 4 or Buntu Lebu (2140 M asl) is slightly sloping terrain, also took 1 hour to get here. From Post 4 to Post 5 or also known as Soloh Tama, is a flat wide area and can accommodate at least 10 tents. This area is slightly open and located near a ridge with a height of 2480 M asl. The travel time from post 4 is 1 hour 30 minutes. Here is a water source such as a river that is approximately 100 meters downhill to the valley. We will break for lunch here. After lunch, continue trekking to the Post 6 2690 M asl Altitude, and when the weather is sunny start from Post 6 is clearly visible Latimojong mountain range as well as some villages that we passed earlier. Post 5 mileage of approximately 1 hour, and from this place to Post 7 or local name Kolong Buntu (3100 M asl) still take 1.5 hours. Tracks such as forest moss and short trees typical of plateau with a fairly strong wind. Dinner, and overnight stay at tent. (B,L,D)

Day 05 : SUMMIT CAMP – RANTE MARIO PEAK – KARANGAN – RANTELEMO VILLAGE
Wake up early morning, after enjoying tea and snacks at about 6:30 am take a short trekking about a 30-minute towards Rantemario peak (3478 M asl) the highest peak of 7 peaks in the Latimojong mountain range and also the highest peak on Sulawesi island. Take your time to enjoy the panoramic view from the summit, then back to Post 7 to get breakfast and then packing preparation for descent back. We will have lunch at Pos 2 Sarung Pakpak Cave which is located on the banks of the river, expected to arrive there around 1 pm. After lunch trekking to villages Rantelemo about 3 hours. Dinner, and stay overnight at local house. Free program, full recovery. (B,L,D)

Day 06 : RANTELEMO – BARAKKA – ENREKANG – RANTEPAO
Morning after breakfast, at around 9 am back to Baraka by a 4WD Jeep, replace car to drive to Enrekang for lunch. After lunch proceed to Toraja Land, about 75 km from Enrekang. It takes about 1.5 hours to arrive in Rantepao city where we will stay at the Torsina hotel. Dinner at one restaurant in Rantepao. (B,L,D)

Day 07 : TORAJA LAND FULLDAY TOUR
After breakfast at hotel, it’s a full day exploring Toraja Land, visiting the cliff-side stone grave with wooden effigies on the balcony at Lemo; the royal family tombs at Suaya, the baby grave in the huge tree at Kambira and cultural performance at Sangalla. Lunch will be served at local restaurant in Rantepao. After lunch, visiting the natural cave at Londa and then proceed to the traditional wooden carving village at Kete Kesu. Back to overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 08 : TORAJA LAND FULLDAY TOUR
After breakfast at hotel the second full day excursion, visiting the most beautiful village with buffalo horns in front of their houses at Palawa. The traditional cotton weaving village at Sa'dan; the ancient megalithic stone at Bori and then proceed to Sesean mount to view the large rice-field terrace at Batutumonga and lunch will be served on this spot. After lunch, continue to visit the boulder grave at Lokomata and then, take a nice nature-walk from Pana through the rice-field and some village down to Tikala. From Tikala village take a drive back to Rantepao for refreshment. Back to hotel for overnight (B,L,D)

Day 09 : TORAJA – PAREPARE – MAKASSAR
Morning after breakfast, leave Toraja Land to Makassar, stop at Bukit Indah Restaurant in Parepare city for lunch. After lunch, go to Makassar city and check in at Pantai Gapura Hotel. In the evening to Akkarena beach to enjoy the sunset, then dinner at one restaurant there. (B,L,D)

Day 10 : TORAJA – HASANUDIN AIRPORT
Morning after breakfast check-out, we will visit Pangeran Diponegoro Cemetery and Oldest traditional Harbour Paotere dan Fort Rotterdam. After lunch at one of local restaurant, we drive to Hasanuddin International Airport – End Program – (B)
