DIVING IN TALISE, BANGKA AND LEMBEH STRAIT
'with NORTH SULAWESI AGGRESSOR'

 DIVE MAP

North Sulawesi

Bangka Island
Sahaong Satu, on the south east corner of Bangka island, is by far one of the most prolific reef sites that our guests have encountered. There are mild currents, hundreds of schooling fish, blue-spotted eagle rays, huge sea fans, sponges and very healthy soft coral growth.

Sahaong Dua is a group of large underwater pinnacles, which are adorned with sea fans and soft coral growth. Between the pinnacles, divers may explore a rubble area with stone fish, leaf fish, octopus and frogfish.

Busa Bola is a sloping wall with sporadic coral heads and pure white sand. Great spot for seeing cuttlefish and octopus.

Spanish Point is another sloping wall with sea fans soft, corals and sponges. The crew named it Spanish Point because they found a Spanish dancer on the first dive. Batu Gosok on the northeast corner of Bangka island, is a group of large underwater pinnacles, which are covered in soft coral and sea fans.

Lembeh Strait Muck and Black Sand
TK Satu, TK Dua, Hairball Satu, Hairball Dua, Magic Rock, Jahir Satu, Jahir Dua, Nudi Retreat, Nudi Falls, Critter Hunt, Retak Larry and Aw Shucks. The Lembeh Muck sites are all similar in topography—a black sand slope starting at 15ft going down to 75ft. Likely creatures seen include: frogfish, leaffish, varieties of clown fish, blue ribbon eels, bangaii cardinal fish and cuttlefish. The really good finds are stargazers, flamboyant cuttlefish, rhinophias, ambon Scorpion fish, blue rings and mimic octopus.

Lembeh Strait Reef
Batu Kapal is a sloping wall with good visibility and schooling tropicals. Occasionally, divers encounter very strong currents. It is located at the very top of the Lembeh strait.

Located mid-way down the Lembeh strait on the Lembeh island side, California Dreamin’ is a very nice sloping wall starting at 25ft and plunging very deep. Visibility is often very good. There are lots of tropicals, cuttlefish, clown fish, soft corals and immense sponge growth.

Angel’s Window is a large coral out-cropping with a nice arch swim-through. The depths range from 10 to 110 ft. Here, divers see lush soft corals, sea fans, lots of clown fish, crocodile fish, cuttlefish and pygmy seahorses.

Batu Merah is on the Lembeh side of the strait. It has nice coral formations that edges up to a black sand slope where we can find lots of the small stuff. Great dive for Mandarin fish.

Lembeh Wrecks
Mawali Wreck is an old tanker lying on its side. Dive depths range from 40-100 ft. The wreck is covered in sea fans, whip coral and some soft coral.

Kapal Indah (Beautiful Ship) is an old freighter with lots of soft coral and sea fans. One fan has several pygmy seahorses.

Mainland North Sulawesi
Located at the northern tip of the North Sulawesi mainland, Batu Mandi is a colorful mini-wall encrusted with all varieties of colorful life. Divers usually find cuttlefish and a host of Nudibranchs.

Talisei Island
Arus Pointon, at the northern point of Talisei, offers divers healthy hard coral and an interesting swim-through.
